2009: The Beginning

Debbie Abernathy, Master Gardener and member of Chestnut Ridge Christian Church envisioned creating a Feed the Hungry Garden. Bob Jones, pictured below along side Debbie, was instrumental in the garden planning and construction of raised beds.

2011: It’s Official

We officially became the CrossRoads Community Garden, adding additional beds and providing lease opportunities for 21 local gardeners.

Garden Sinkhole Repaired

In fall of 2015, two sinkholes were discovered in the southwest corner of the garden and parking lot area. Below are some photos of the excavation and repair process. Read more about the sinkholes in an article written by Lynn Kannepin.

This spring we had the honor of being on the Master Gardner’s Tour. During the summer
over 700 pounds of vegetables were donated by our gardeners to Cobb food pantries.
